Transit Advocate and Former Council Candidate Kevin Bing Endorses Brennan and Bhalla for State Assembly
Kevin Bing, longtime transit advocate and former Jersey City Council candidate, today announced his endorsement of Katie Brennan and Ravi Bhalla for State Assembly in the 32nd Legislative District.
"I'm tired of watching our trains break down while the party bosses and their handpicked legislators do nothing to fix it. This is our chance to finally have representatives in Trenton who care and are in it for the right reasons," said Kevin Bing. "I’ve known Katie for years. She’s been in the trenches advocating for better transit, and she actually knows how to fix our housing crisis. And Ravi has made Hoboken a national model for pedestrian safety. They’ve gone eight straight years with zero pedestrian deaths. When you're stuck on a delayed PATH train thinking about how your rent just went up 30 percent, you want representatives who will actually fight the system, not play nice with it."
Bing, who has been active in local transit advocacy and previously ran for Jersey City Council in Ward C, highlighted the candidates' independence from political machines as a key factor in his decision.
Katie Brennan, a nationally recognized housing policy expert, has spent 15 years fighting for affordable housing at every level of government. Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla has led his city to eight years without a pedestrian fatality and earned national recognition for climate action.
"Kevin understands that cities are for people, not cars, and that’s what this campaign is about,” said Katie Brennan. “His endorsement means a lot because he's been fighting for better transit infrastructure long before it was politically popular."
“Kevin has been fighting for better transit while too many politicians just talk about it," said Mayor Ravi Bhalla. "As mayor, I've seen firsthand how the state's failures on transit funding hurt our residents every day. Kevin knows we need representatives who will actually stand up to the Turnpike Authority and demand accountability from NJ Transit, not politicians who take money from the same contractors making our traffic worse."
The 32nd Legislative District includes parts of Jersey City and all of Hoboken. The Democratic primary election is June 10, 2025.
